Installing Your Kysslev Mezuzah

Thank you for choosing Kysslev. Follow the steps below to install your mezuzah in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Insert Your Scroll

Carefully insert your kosher mezuzah scroll into the mezuzah case.

Please note: Scrolls are sold separately.

Step 2: Attach the Clear Mounting Back

Remove the brown 3M adhesive liner from the back of the mezuzah.

Firmly press the clear mounting back onto the mezuzah and apply pressure for several seconds to ensure a secure bond.

Step 3: Prepare Your Doorway

Peel the protective liner from the adhesive on the clear mounting back.

Clean the installation area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and allow it to dry completely before mounting.

Step 4: Mount the Mezuzah

Position the mezuzah on the right side of the doorway as you enter the room.

Press firmly against the doorpost for approximately 30 seconds.

Many Ashkenazi families have the custom of mounting the mezuzah at a slight inward angle toward the room. Sephardic communities traditionally mount it vertically. Follow your family's custom or consult your rabbi if you're unsure.

For the strongest bond, allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before removing or repositioning the mezuzah.

The Blessing

Traditionally, men wear a kippah while reciting the blessing.

Blessed are you, L-rd ourG‑d, King of the Universe, Who has made us holy with His commandments and commanded us to affix a mezuzah.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I place my mezuzah?

A mezuzah is traditionally placed on the right side of the doorway as you enter the room, positioned on the lower part of the upper third of the doorpost.

Does my mezuzah include a scroll?

Unless otherwise stated, mezuzah scrolls are sold separately.

Can I remove or change my mezuzah later?

Yes! One of the unique features of the Kysslev mounting system is the removable clear back. You can easily swap mezuzah designs without removing the mounting plate from your doorway.

Will the adhesive damage my wall or door?

The included 3M adhesive is designed to provide a strong hold. Removal methods may vary depending on the surface. We recommend removing it carefully and slowly if needed.
